AMD is launching the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 with RDNA 4 architecture, AI-powered FSR 4 upscaling, and 16GB of GDDR6 memory, starting at $549.

AMD is launching its new Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards on March 6. The RX 9070 XT will cost $599, while the RX 9070 will be slightly cheaper at $549. Both cards are built on the new RDNA 4 architecture, bringing better performance and improved AI features.

One of the biggest upgrades is in machine learning. AMD has added new AI Accelerator units, making these GPUs much better at handling AI-related tasks. This also powers FSR 4, AMD’s first AI-based upscaling technology. Like Nvidia’s DLSS, FSR 4 will boost performance by upscaling lower-resolution images, but it will have a bigger performance impact than traditional methods like FSR 3.1.

Both GPUs come with 16GB of GDDR6 memory, but the RX 9070 XT is the more powerful option. It has 14% more compute units than the standard RX 9070 and a higher power budget. The RX 9070 XT is built for 4K gaming, while the RX 9070 is best suited for 1440p.

AMD isn’t releasing a reference model, so all cards will come from third-party manufacturers. This means prices may vary at launch, but they should stabilize after a few weeks. If you're looking for a new GPU in 2025, these cards could be worth considering.
